[Russia] Ukraine, GELCU – New Pastor in Charkow, Ukraine

The leave-taking of Rev. Klaus Walz and the ordination of the Assistant Pastor Andrej Hamburg took place at Ascension Church on January 29th.

Rev. Emeritus Klaus Walz, sent by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria, was in charge of the church in Charkow for a couple of years. In autumn 2004, Andrej Hamburg, who was born in the Ukraine, began his one-year internship. He conducted services in the churches in Charkow, Poltawa, and Losowaya, organised church activities, and held counselling sessions.
The ordination of Andrej Hamburg conducted by the Episcopal Visitor of the German Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Ukraine (GELCU), Georg Güntsch, under the assistance of Rev. Klaus Walz and the colleagues of the Swedish Mission of the Lutheran Church.
Andrej Hamburg, born in 1973, finished his training at the Hermannsburg Mission with the Second Theological Examen on December 5th, 2005. He is married and has two children.
