Structure of ELCROS

ELCROS consists of seven regional Churches and congregation in Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Belorussia. The clerical head of the Church is Archbishop Dr. Dr. Edmund Ratz.

The main governing body of ELCROS is General Synod. The other governing bodies are Council of Archbishop and Consistory. The Central Church Administration (CCA) is responsible for the administrative and economic issues. The Central Church Administration , the Office of Archbishop and Department for Press and PR-activities are situated in St. Peter-and-Paul-Church in Saint Petersburg.

Regional Churches

Evangelical-Lutheran Church in European Russia (ELСER) encloses about 170 congregations and church-like groups which are united in 12 dioceses. In 2004 40 pastors and 80 preachers work for the church. Bishop Siegfried Springer was the clerical head of the Church since 1992, his successor since september 2007 is Archbishop Dr. Dr. Edmund Ratz. The Church is situated in St. Peter-and-Paul-Church in Moscow. The ELСER develops relations with Lutheran partner-churches in the United States of America.

Evangelical-Lutheran Church of the Urals, Siberia and the Far East (ELCUSF) encloses 154 congregations and church-like groups. The area is divided into four regions: the Urals region (headquartered in Krasnoturinsk), West Sibiria region (headquartered in Omsk), Central Sibiria region (headquartered in Krasnojarsk), the Far East region (headquartered in Vladivostok). The church consists of 10 dioceses. On the whole nine pastors and 62 preachers work for the Church. The clerical head of the Church is Bishop August Kruse. The Church Office is situated in Christ-Church in Omsk. The ELCUSF maintains partnership with Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Hannover.

German Evangelical-Lutheran Church in the Ukraine (GELCU) encloses 40 congregations with eleven pastors and about 40 lay preachers. In October 2005 Bishop Georg Güntsch has become the clerical head of the Church. The Church Office is located in Odessa. The Church maintains partnership with Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Bavaria.

Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Kazakhstan (ELCRK) encloses 61 congregations and religious groups. On the whole 14 pastors and 35 preachers work for the church. Bishop Juri Nowgorodow is the clerical head of the Church since June 2005. The ELCRK maintains partnership with Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Mecklenburg and Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Westphalia.
