Doma BaznicaThe Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia was founded in 1922, four years after the Latvian declaration of independence in 1918. However, Evangelical-Lutheran parishes exist already since the beginning of the Reformation in the 1520s.

Many parishes were destroyed in the years of the Soviet government. After the so-called “turning point” over 100 parishes were renewed or newly founded.
